Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (TIFR), Mumbai hereby invites applications from candidates with a strong academic background combined with broad interests and reading to work in one or more of the following areas of education at the school level.

D&T education : This will include development of a curriculum for teaching D&T;research on socio-cultural,cognitive and pedagogic issues; and teacher preparation.

Environmental education : Development of activity based and socially engaged curricula and related research on attitudinal change and socio-cultural issues.

Development and management of an interactive website for the above activities

1. PROJECT ASSISTANT – 1 position : The candidates should have M.Sc in physics or life sciences or M.A in social/behavioral sciences or Bachelor's level qualification in product design. Preferred – B.Ed., teaching experience, or a passion for hands- on activities.

The positions are purely temporary, for one year in the first instance and extendable by one or two more years. A consolidated honorarium will be paid as follows.
· For Project Assistants with Post Graduate (M. Sc etc.) or Professional Bachelor's Degree - Rs. 10,000/- during the first year, Rs. 11,000/- during the second year and Rs. 12,000/- during the third year.
· For Project Assistants with Bachelor's (B. Sc etc.) degrees - Rs. 7,500/- during the first year, Rs. 8,500/- during the second year and Rs. 9,500/- during the third year.
Age: Below 25 years (relaxable in deserving cases)

2. PROJECT FELLOW – 1 position: The candidate should have M.Tech in any field OR M.Sc. in physics or life sciences OR M.A. in social/ behavioural sciences OR B.Tech/B.E. with excellent leadership, interpersonal, computer, and communication skills in English, and a passion for teaching.

The positions are purely temporary, for one year in the first instance and extendable by one or two more years. Fixed Honorarium of Rs, 12000/- to 16000/- p.m. with enhancement of slab by Rs. 1000/- per year upto Rs. 16000/- p.m.

Age: Below 30 years (relaxable in deserving cases)

1. MASTER OF SCIENCE, POST MASTERS DIPLOMA & P.G. DIPLOMA COURSES:

(a) M.Sc Forestry (25 seats):
Eligibility: Three years Bachelor's degree in science with at least one of the subjects namely Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology or a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Forestry.

(b) M.Sc Wood Science & Technology (25 seats):
Eligibility: Three years Bachelor's degree with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or B.Sc. degree in Forestry.

(c) M.Sc. Environment Management (25 seats):
Eligibility: Three years Bachelor's degree in any branch of basic or applied Sciences or Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE/B.Tech in Environment Science.

(d) Post Masters Diploma in Natural Resource Management (15 seats)
Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: M.Sc in any discipline.

(e) Post Masters Diploma in Natural Resource Management (15 seats)
Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: M.Sc in Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Chemistry.

(f) P.G. Diploma in Pulp & Paper Technology (10 seats):
Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: B.Sc. in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects.

2. PERCENTAGE OF MARKS ( in the qualifying examination):
Candidates having 50% or above marks in general category and 45% marks for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes may apply.

Forestry, M.Sc. Environment Management (d) ICFRE Employee: 5 seats in each M.Sc. Environment Management & PMD Natural Resource Management courses only.
