BEFORE SENDING FILLED FORMS
1. It is the responsibility of the candidate to read these instructions. An incomplete form or an application filled in a language other than English will be summarily rejected.
2. Completed application forms along with relevant enclosures should reach the Office of the Dean, MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai / Aurangabad based on their preference of college, not later than the last date specified, even if result of qualifying examination are not available by that date.
3. The application form must be filled by the candidate in his /her own handwriting using black ballpoint pen. Please read the instructions before filling the application form.
4. The Candidate can submit downloaded application form downloaded from our website with a DD of Rs 1500/- as application fee. The application number for these forms will be allotted by University after submitting.
5. The following details should be written on the back of the Bank Demand Draft:i. Application Number (if any)ii. Name of the Candidate
6. When applying for more than one course: Candidates must list the courses in the order of preference in the application form. Use course codes.
7. Photograph: A colour passport size photograph taken after 1st February this year should accompany each application. The photograph should show the face in full. Paste the photographs in the space provided on the Application form. Please do not staple or pin the photograph

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM1) The application form, complete in all respect, shall be submitted directly to Dean, MGM Medical College, Kamothe / Aurangabad based on their preference of college either in person or by speed post / Courier. The filled application form along with D.D. in respect of application fee if applicable should be kept in an envelope.2) Incomplete application form and /or with less payment as prescribed by University will be rejected without any information to the applicant.3) No original documents to be attached with the application form.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:1. Admissions for above courses shall be made strictly on the merit determined on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and score of personal interview.2. The merit list is prepared by taking 20% marks scored in personal interview and 80% of total marks scored in qualifying examination. All the above merit lists will be displayed on notice board of MGM University of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai and the website.3. The candidates who do not submit attested copies of marks sheets and attempt certificate along with the FORM shall be rejected without any intimation to the candidate.4. Details of Personal interview shall be displayed on its notice board and website. Hence students are advised to visit the website regularly for updates. No separate communication will be sent to applicant.5. MGM University will declare a merit list of candidates in the order of merit. Additional 10% weight age will be given to M.B.B.S., BPT, BDS, B. Sc. (Nursing) B. Pharm. and other such professional degree courses if passed by applicant.6. This merit list will be displayed on the notice board of MGM University of Health Sciences and the website only.7. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the merit list, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined as per the regulations of MGM University of Health Sciences, prescribed for the purpose.8. Candidates selected for admission are required pay the first year fees (tuition fee + other fees + registration fee + caution deposit) and submit all the original documents on the day of counselling. Candidates without the first year fees and the original documents will not be admitted under any circumstances.

List of Certificates or enclosures

3. Conduct and Character certificate to be obtained on the college letter head/pad. No other certificate in lieu of this will be accepted
4. Degree certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate issued by the Board/University
5. Migration certificate/School or College Leaving Certificate
6. Four recent and identical passport size photographs and one stamp size photograph
7. Candidates are warned against submitting the colour photocopies of the original marks card in lieu of the original marks cards. Original marks cards which are laminated will not be accepted by the University. In the event of submission of such fraudulent original marks cards, incorrect or untrue information or suppression or distortion of any fact in the original marks card, admission/degree of the candidate is liable for cancellation.
8. Failure to produce the document/s on the day of admission or by the date specified for this purpose will result in instantaneous forfeiture of the seat. Request for withdrawals of the original documents submitted can be made only for genuine reasons in the name of constituent institution.

Ravenshaw, one of the premier educational institutions in the country was established in 1868 in the town of Cuttack in Orissa. After hundred forty years of eventful existence, it was converted into Ravenshaw University by an Act of the State Legislature in November 15, 2006. Thus, as one of the heritage educational institutions, and as a young university, Ravenshaw is a veritable blend of the old and the new. The old Ravenshaw Campus with its majestic structures was set up in the year 1919 over about a hundred acres of land on the eastern side of Cuttack. After being a university, Ravenshaw has acquired about another hundred forty acres of land on the bank of river Mahanadi to build its second campus for the new disciplines of management and applied sciences. The old Ravenshaw campus is located very close to Cuttack Railway Station, and requires about 45 minutes of driving time to reach from Bhubaneswar Airport. As a young university, the old Ravenshaw is now in the throes of preservation and change. Its infrastructure, both academic and physical, is being strengthened and expanded to meet the needs to make it more contemporary, and raise the level of its excellence.

Courses (Biotechnology, Computer Science and Information Technology Management) and one M.A course (Journalism and Mass Communication) in self financing mode with increased course fee.(i) M.Sc. in Biotechnology (24) :Biotechnology, a comparatively new branch of science, is an emerging area. The objective is to create human resource to further research and teaching in Biotechnology. The course fee is Rs. 25,000/- per annum.(ii) M.Sc. in Computer Science (32) :This course offers a scope of vertical progression to the graduates in computer science and information technology by producing high quality software personnel to cater to the needs of IT industries. The course fee is Rs. 20,000/- per annum.(iii) M.Sc. in Information Technology Management (24) :The course, offered in collaboration with Star Computer Institute Pvt. Ltd., aims at preparing students to pursue professional career in Software Design and Network Engineering. The course fee is Rs.30,000/- per annum.(iv) M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication (60) :This course, offered in collaboration with Heritage Vision Educational Trust provides a sound infrastructure for career-building in a wide range of activities covering print and electronic journalism, advertising and public relations, etc., and also imparts practical training. The course fee is Rs. 20,000/- per annum.(v) Master of Computer Applications (30) :The Ravenshaw University imparts teaching facilities in Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Admission into the Course is made through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by BPUT, Orissa, and not through Ravenshaw University's own admission process.M.Phil. Students.Residential Facility: The university has limited residential facilities for boys and girls. Therefore, candidates who do not come under subject/course wise merit list for available accommodation in hostels, shall have to make their own arrangements for living.Selection for admission in the hostels shall be made on the basis of merit. However, 20% (12% for ST + 8% for SC) of seats shall be reserved for SC / ST candidates. Local students (i.e. students whose parents / grand parents are residing within the jurisdiction of Cuttack Municipal Corporation) are not allowed to avail hostel accommodation not withstanding their position in general merit list for admission

RULES AND PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION

Application Procedure(i) Candidates seeking admission into different UG or PG courses of the University shall submit online application available in the Ravenshaw University Website (www.ravenshawuniversity.com) on or before 16 June 2008.Applicants shall remit Rs. 160/- (Rupees one hundred and sixty only) in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Ravenshaw University on any nationalized bank, payable at Cuttack.Applicants are required to make the following entries on the reverse of the demand draft before it is despatched to the Registrar, Ravenshaw University.1. Name and Address of the Applicant2. Application Form No.Applicants are advised to send the demand draft by Speed Post or Registered Post, incase they are unable to submit it in person.
Applicants may choose to use the services of private couriers but as regards the date of receipt of the bank draft in the university office, the confirmation of the university shall be taken as final and binding.(ii) On receipt of the draft, the University shall issue the Admit Card for the Entrance Examination online, which can be downloaded.The Admit Card shall have two parts: one for the Candidate (Candidate's Copy), and the other for the Office (Office Copy). Applicants shall affix two recent passport size photographs on spaces indicated, and provide necessary information in both parts of the Admit Card. They are required to bring both the copies (Candidate's Copy as well as Office Copy) to the Examination Centre on the date of examination. No other intimation shall be issued for reporting at the examination centre.The candidates having Admit Cards are requested to report at least one hour before the commencement of examination, for the scrutiny of their documents. Similarly separate applications are required to be made for each subject for Postgraduate study.

Eligibility for Admission:(i) UG Course: A minimum of 40% marks in aggregate (excluding marks in extra optional or fourth elective) in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, and a minimum of 40% marks in the University Entrance Test.Needless to say, only the students of Higher Secondary Science Stream will be eligible to apply for all Bachelor of Science Courses in the PCM and CBZ group, and for IST & ITM courses except QEF (See Grouping Pattern at para-9). However, students of Higher Secondary, of Arts and Science streams, having Mathematics as a subject can offer QEF.In addition to the students of Higher Secondary Science Stream, students with Three year Diploma in Engineering, recognized by State Council of Vocational and Technical Education, Orissa are also eligible for IST and ITM group of the Bachelor of Science courses.(ii) PG Course: A second class honours (45%) in the subject in which the candidate seeks to pursue the PG course, and a minimum of 40% marks in the University Entrance Test.However, for pursuing PG programme in (i) Biotechnology, (ii) Computer Science, (iii) Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), (iv) Information Technology Management (ITM), the minimum eligibility criteria as laid down above is required to be secured in the following pre-requisite subjects mentioned against each.a) Biotechnology: Honours in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry or any other subject relating to Life Sciences.b) Computer Science and ITM : Honours in Computer Science, ITM, IST or B.Tech. in Computer Science.c) JMC : Bachelor Degree in any discipline.(iii) M.Phil Course: Postgraduate Degree in the subject concerned with at least 50% marks in aggregate.Selection Norms(i) Admission to the University cannot be claimed as a matter of right, and may be refused by the authority without citing any reason. NEW DELHI: Warning students against self-styled institutions which continue to operate and offer degree programmes without government recognition, the University Grants Commission has announced a list of 20 such universities/institutions.
While admitting that mushrooming of fake universities was a matter of great concern, the UGC reiterated that the identified institutions were not established as per Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and so did not have the right to issue degrees.
Once again figuring in the list are three institutes from the Capital. The Commercial University, United Nations University and Vocational University continue to operate from the city. Also in the list are the Delhi Vishwa Vidyapeeth in Model Town and ADR Centric Juridical University at Gopala Tower in Rajender Place here.
The others listed include Maithili University, Darbanga, Bihar; Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Prayag, Allahabad; Varanaseya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi; Indian Educational Council of U.P. in Lucknow; Gandhi Hindi Vidyapith, Prayag; and National University of Electro Complex Homoeopathy, Kanpur.

Note : Out of above reservation, 03 vacancies are reserved for Orthopaedic Handicapped(OH) and 17 vacancies for Hearing Handicapped(HH) persons in the non-exempted disciplines marked with asterisk (*).  However,  DRDS cadre in DRDO, has been exempted from the purview of Section-33 of Persons with Disability Act, 1995, in the areas of Chemical Engg ,Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg and, Mechanical Engg.

1.  ELIGIBILITY

a.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Atleast first class Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engg / Mechanical Engg / Computer Science & Engg/ Chemical Engg/ Electrical Engg./ Instrumentation Engg/ Metallurgical Engg. or  first class Master's Degree in Sciencein  Chemistry/Physics from a recognized University in respective/relevant discipline.

b.AGE LIMIT

The upper age limit is 28 years (as on 31st May 2008). It is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/HH/OH candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them as per rules in vogue.  Age is also relaxable for Armed Forces Personnel as per rules in vogue.

c.NATIONALITY

Only Indian nationals need apply.

2.  SET - 2008

After ensuring that the above eligibility conditions are satisfied, candidates are required to apply in the Electronically Scannable Application Form specified for DRDO SET - 2008.  These application forms with the information brochure containing the syllabus and instructions for filling the application will be available at the designated Branches of State Bank of India (for details visit http://rac.drdo.in ) from      5th May 2008 to  31st May 2008 to General/OBC candidates on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rs. 100/-for the application form with information brochure and Rs. 200/- as Exam. fees).  For SC/ST candidates there is no Exam fees and the application form with information brochure will be available to such candidates on payment of Rs 100/- only.  Forms purchased from the designated Branches of State Bank of India should be filled in accordance with the instructions given in information brochure. However, for HH/OH candidates, there is no Application / Examination fee. Such candidates may obtain application form free of cost  from RAC by sending a copy of "Prescribed Disability Certificate" issued by competent authority as per G.I.,Dept. of Per. & Trg.,O.M. No 36035/3/2004-Estt (Res), dated 29 Dec 2005. The filled in application forms should be sent/submitted to The Director, Recruitment  & Assessment   Centre, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi – 110054 latest by 31st May 2008.The application form should be filled carefully, without over writing, as these will be machine processed and no manual checking will be done.  Onus of satisfying the eligibility requirements for appearing in the chosen subject lies with the candidate.  In respect of applications sent by Post by candidates from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, NE Hill Region, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahul & Spiti Districts & Pangi Sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh and abroad, closing date of receipt of applications is  10th June 2008.   Candidates appearing in the final examination (final semester) may also apply. However, candidates found eligible for interview, will be allowed to appear for the same if their final results is declared before 31st Aug  2008.

Candidates will be required to appear for the DRDO SET of three hours duration. Each candidate appearing for the Test will be given one Question Booklet containing objective type questions. Each booklet will have two sections.  Section 'A' will consist of 100 questions to test the candidate's knowledge in the subject as per syllabus. Each question will have 4 choices one of which will be correct. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks.  For each incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. Section 'B' will consist of 50 questions to test the candidate's aptitude relevant to Applied Research & Development. The standard of Section 'B' will be such as may be expected of Engineering Graduates/Science Post Graduates. Each question will have 4 choices one of which will be correct. Each correct answer will fetch 2 marks.   For each incorrect answer 1/2 mark will be deducted. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in Section A and Section B and this list will be used for shortlisting the candidates for interview purely on merit basis subject to minimum qualifying criteria as decided by RAC.

Sunday, 7th September2008; 1000 - 1300 hrs.

 

4.CENTRES FOR SET-2008

Agra, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai,, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Triruvannantapuram. However, the centers may be changed due to non-availability of sufficient number of candidates.

5. CERTIFICATES

Copies of certificates/testimonials regarding qualifications, cast, employment etc. should NOT be attached with the application form. Candidates, shortlisted for interview after the test will, however,  be required to produce original certificates for verification at the time of interview.  Candidates  serving in Central/State / Govt./PSU/Autonomous body etc. will be required to bring 'NOC' from their respective Department / Employer at the time of interview failing which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

6. 

The final selection of the candidates will be based purely on their performance in the interview based on subject knowledge and/or job oriented aptitude. In accordance with the subject wise merit, the offer of appointment to the selected candidates will be restricted to the number of vacancies. The appointment, however, will be subject to satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical examination prescribed for Group 'A' Technical posts of Govt. of India with Field Service Liability and character verification besides verification of SC/ST/OBC/HH/OH certificate, if applicable. All Scientists 'B' to be inducted through DRDO SET - 2008 will initially undergo for Post Induction Training  (POINT) at Pune. Selected candidates have the liability to serve anywhere in India.

8.APPLICATION FORMS

Candidates are advised to obtain the application forms from designated branches of State Bank of India only. However, in case of any difficulty in obtaining the application form, the request may be sent to Director, Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054 by enclosing a crossed demand draft for Rs. 350/- (Rs.300/- for application form + Rs.50/- for handling charges) for General/OBC and Rs. 150/- (Rs.100/- for application form + Rs. 50/- for handling charges) for SC/ST candidates, in favour of "Director RAC", payable at Delhi. The candidate must write his/her name, address, contact (Tel/Mobile) number and e-mail address at the back of demand draft. HH/OH candidates may obtain application form free of cost from RAC by sending a copy of "Prescribed Disability Certificate" issued by competent authority.  The request for obtaining the form must reach Director RAC, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054 latest by  20th May 2008, accompanied with two self addressed white slips of size 4" x 3".  The envelope must indicate "REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM ADVT NO. – 89".

9. Candidates are advised to keep a photocopy of the application form for use in future.

10. Those applications, which are not completed by the candidates in accordance with the  instructions or those received late due to any reason, will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

11. The applicants should ensure their eligibility themselves in respect of age, essential qualification  etc. and may refer  information brochure carefully as the application forms are processed electronically and eligibility for the written test cannot be verified.

12. The number of vacancies for any subject may vary.
