Eligibility:
A) Radio Physics & Electronics - 2 Year (4 Semester Full time)
a) General Category : Candidates must posses any one of the following degrees:
(i) B.Tech degree in Radio Physics & Electronics of C.U.
(ii) B.Tech degree in Information Technology only of C.U.
(iii) A degree from any other University, equivalent to (I) above.
(iv) An M.Sc. degree in Electronics Science of the University of Calcutta Candidates must possess a B.Sc. with Physics Honours and Math as general subject of the University of Calcutta.
(v) M.Sc. degree in Physics (with Advanced papers in Electronic ) of the University of Calcutta with B.Sc Hons. In Physics & Math as general Subject. Three fellowships of Rs. 8000/-p.m. each will be awarded to the students who would pursue "Space Science and Communication" specialization. The fellowships are sponsored by ISRO under the "Strengthening of Space Science Activities in Universities".
b) Sponsored Candidates (age limit 40 years) : Candidates sponsored by Company / Institution must possess one of the degree mentioned in (a) above.
c) Three fellowships of Rs.8,000/- p.m. each will be awarded to the students who would pursue Space Science and Communication relation courses. The fellowship are sponsored by ISRO under the "Strengthening of Space Science Activities in Universities".
B) "VLSI DESIGN" : 2- year (4 Semester ) "Full – time" with option for practicing professionals to enroll as 3-year (6 Semester) " Part time" students in the department of Radio Physics & Electronics.
General Category: Candidates must possess any one of the following degrees:
i) B.Tech. degree in Radio Physics and Electronics of C.U.
ii) B.Tech. degree in Information Technology of the University of Calcutta
iii)B. Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering OR Electrical Engineering of the University of Calcutta.
iv) M.Sc. degree in Electronics Science of the University of Calcutta
v) A degree equivalent to (I), (II) OR (III) from any University/Institute recognized by the University of Calcutta.
Notes:
1. Candidates with M. Sc qualification must also possess a B.Sc. degree with Honours in Physics and Mathematics as a General paper.
2. Sponsored candidates (age limit 40 years): Candidates sponsored by Company / Institutions must possess one of the degrees mentioned in the respective categories. Such candidates must submit Certificates from their employers indicating that a. the employee will be provided leave of absence from the place of employment for the entire duration of study (2-years) at the University of Calcutta and
b. that his/her tuition and other fees for the entire course will be paid by the employer at the time of admission and the same will not be claimed back under any circumstances.
3. Candidates opting for Part-Time option must be employed in an organization involved in VLSI Design related activities. Such candidates must submit Certficates from their employers indicating that
a. the company is engaged in VLSI related activity and that the candidate is employed in the company for involvement in such activities and
b. that he/she will be released from the place of employment to attend classes in the University of Calcutta in the first half (upto 2:00 PM) of each working day during the entire period of the course of 3-year duration.
(C ) Department of Applied Optics & Photonics 2 year(4 Semester) M.Tech. Programme in Optics & Opto-Electronics.
Eligibility:
(a) A candidate with three years B.Tech . degree in Optics & Optoelectronics or equivalent degree recognized by AICTE is eligible for admission to the first semester of the said M.Tech. degree in Optics and Optoelectronics.
(b) (i) Non-CU candidates with B.Tech. / BE in Electronics and telecommunication or equivalent shall be selected on the basis of a written test and interview
(ii) M,Sc. (Physics) candidates with valid GATE score will also be considered for admission.
(c) The total number of seats would be 10+5 (for sponsored candidates) + Sc / ST candidates (as per rule).

Candidates should have a master's degree in Physics from a recognised Uni- versity with 55% marks and should have passed NET/GATE test.
Upper age limit is 28 years as on the day of application. CSIR invites applications for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) Fellowships, 2009 from valid GATE scorecard holders of GATE Exam -2009 who are top 30 rankers in Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences, top 20 rankers in Physical Sciences and top 10 rankers in Mathematical Sciences and Earth Sciences for pursuing innovative scientific research in science subjects of CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) on the basis of two tier interviews to be held in HRDG, CSIR Complex, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 between 11.07.09 to 14.07.09. CSIR announces the SPM Fellowship, 2009 selections which will be held from 11thJuly,09 to 14th July,09 at HRDG,CSIR Complex ,Library Avenue road, Pusa, New Delhi-110012.It is a two tier selection procedure, the pre- screening interview will be held on 11th and 12th July,09 followed by final interview of screened candidates on 13th and 14th july,09 for selection of SPM fellows.
The candidates, whose name and NET examination roll numbers (June and December 2008) are listed below are eligible for being considered for SPM Fellowship 2009 selections. Detailed information regarding the SPM fellowship and its selection procedure is available on our website. The candidates appearing for the SPM Fellowship 2009 selections will be reimbursed journey fare limited to the AC III Tier railway fare to and from New Delhi, from the station of their address given by them in their NET application.

Jiwaji University Gwalior - Admission Notification
Applications on prescribed application forms are invited for admission to the following academic programs.

Non-entrance test based courses: Admission will be done on the basis of merit in index prepared based on marks obtained in qualifying examination
Application form can be collected from the University’s Sales Counters by depositing Rs 400/- in cash/DD. To obtain a prospectus by post request may be sent to the Registrar, Jiwaji University, Gwalior-474011 along with a DD/IPO for Rs. 450/- in favour of Registrar, Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
Those who download the application forms from the website should submit the completed form along with the crossed a/c payee demand draft of Rs. 450/- payable at Gwalior in favour of Registrar, Jiwaji University, Gwalior. They can collect prospectus along with roll numbers one day before the entrance test from the control room.
For each course a separate application form has to be submitted and with each application form an additional application fee of Rs 100/- has to be deposited (Demand Draft in favour of Registrar, Jiwaji) University, Gwalior. Each information Bulletin has six application forms (one specifically for physical education courses), which are non-transferable.Please refer the prospectus for details concerning eligibility, admission criteria, admission process, reservation policies, fee structure, etc. Reservation of seats will be as per M.P.

Eligibility for Admissions and Other Related Rules:
Minimum Percentage for Admissions and Eligibility for Appearing in Entrance Test Minimum percentage and admission criteria for admission to courses being offered by the University are mentioned in the respective departmental profiles of this admission brochure. A relaxation of 5% in the eligibility criteria shall be admissible to the bonafide SC/ST/OBC applicants of Madhya Pradesh only. A relaxation of 5% in eligibility will also be applicable to Nishaktijan as defined by M.P. Government.
If some seats remain vacant in non-entrance test based courses, candidates who have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination can be given admission. But in such cases, no candidate (whatever category he/she belongs to) who has secured below 45% will be admitted.
The candidates awaiting their results of qualifying examination can also apply for admission .
Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from universities other than Jiwaji University are required to submit ‘Eligibility Certificate’.
Fresh admission will be given only in first semester / first year of the course.
Age Limit:
As per the government rules the upper age limit for admission to undergraduate courses is 22 years whereas for postgraduate degree and diploma courses it is 27 years as on July 01, 2009. A relaxation of three years in upper age limit for SC / ST / OBC and physically handicapped candidate shall be provided for the applicants of Madhya Pradesh only. For candidate belonging to Nishaktjan category upper age limit for admission to Graduate and Post Graduate classes will be 30 and 35 years, respectively. Upper age limit will not be applicable for the candidates sponsored by foreign / Indian / state government and the institution directly or indirectly under their control or if the fees is paid in foreign currency for the payment seat. There is no upper age limit for female candidates and Yoga / L.L.M. courses also. Age limit will also not be there for part-time courses and courses offered via distance mode.
Non-Eligibility for Admission:
If the age is more than the requisite age.
The applicants appearing in supplementary examination of the qualifying
examination .
An applicant already holding a Master’s degree from a faculty shall not be
eligible for the admission to a programme at same level in the same faculty as a regular candidate. Furthermore a candidate, who has taken admission earlier in any course but left the course in between, due to whatever reason/s, will not be given regular admission in the same course.
An applicant convicted by the court of law in India or outside or one against whom a case is pending in the court of law or a person against whom disciplinary action has been taken by Jiwaji University or any other University shall not be eligible for admission.
A full time government employee/non-government employee cannot take admission in courses run during working hours. However, they can take admission in courses run after
regular working hours. For the same they will have to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) form their employer.

D degree program being jointly run by IMTECH and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. IMTECH is a multidisciplinary institute with excellent research facilities, state of the art computer and library facilities, and faculty with interests in many different areas of modern biology and biotechnology. During this intake, openings may be available in the subjects illustratively mentioned below. Bioinformatics: Computer-aided vaccine and drug development, genome annotations, protein structure prediction, molecular simulations. Bioorganic Chemistry: Enzymes and abzymes in organic synthesis, biocatalysis and bioactive molecules. Peptide Chemistry: Peptide synthesis, conformational characterization and modelling. Biochemical Engineering: Fermentation & downstream processing, process development, bioreactor modelling and control. Biosensors: Immunodiagnostics of pesticides and other environmental pollutants based on bioprobe-electronic interfacing.
Eligibility and Selection:
Candidates with Master's Degree or equivalent in any branch of science (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pharmacy) or in chemical/biochemical engineering who have qualified to be eligible to receive a doctoral junior research fellowship (JRF) after passing any of the following examinations are eligible to be interviewed: CSIR/UGC NET, DBT JRF examination ('A' Category), or ICMR JRF examination. Those coming for interview must be prepared to be present in Chandigarh for three days, which is the approximate time required to finalize the admission of successful candidates. No TA/DA or any other expenses will be paid for appearing in the interview. Only those candidates will be allowed to appear in the interview that produce a valid proof of having passed the qualifying masters' level examination (e.g. a letter from the relevant Head of Department). Candidates must also state their present occupation, if any, before the interview; any concealment may result in cancellation of admission at any stage. Age limit: 28 years (age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST and OBC candidates as per Govt. of India rules). The decision of the Director, IMTECH, regarding selection/admission of the candidates shall be final.

Institute for plasma Research (IPR) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
IPR is also actively involved in the development and popularization of plasma technologies relevant to Indian industries under the banner of Facilitation Center for Industrial Plasma Technologies (FCIPT).

The Technical Training Program (TTP)
The candidates selected under this program are given one-year training in the science and technologies related to the creation and diagnostics of variety of plasmas for a wide range of applications and allied technologies. On successful completion of the training, the trainees will be appointed as Scientist / Engineer – SC in IPR or ITER-India.
Those selected in IPR will primarily work in the country's domestic fusion program and industrial plasma applications.
Offer of appointment in case of ITER-India are project appointments for the period of construction phase of ITER (about 10 years), but are likely to continue further into the operation phase (about 20 years).
HOW TO APPLY:
Choose your discipline as detailed out in Table 1 below while filling up the application form.
Select the option of the branch option for post at IPR, at ITER-India or for both the places. (read details in above paragraph for more details on this)
Make sure you have the necessary qualifying degree (mentioned in table 1 against each post and also satisfy all the "eligibility criteria" specified below.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPLYING:
If you have completed your Qualifying Degree, you must have obtained at least 60% marks AND First Division as indicated in your degree certificate / final mark sheet (to be attached).
If you are still in the final year of your qualifying degree and expect to complete the degree by 1 September/October, 2009, you may apply. However, you must be in a position to furnish mark sheet for VI AND VII or at least V and VI semesters (or M.Sc. Ist year marks in case of Physics). These mark sheets (to be attached) should indicate that you have at least 60% in each of these two semesters or in M.Sc. Ist year.
Those applying for engineering disciplines should have completed B.E. / B. Tech. in their respective disciplines in first class from a govt. recognized university. Preference would be given to fresh candidates who have passed in 2008 or later.
4. Those applying for Physics disciplines should have completed M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Engineering Physics from a govt. recognized university with first class. Preference would be given to fresh candidates who have passed in 2008 or later.

Eligibility Criteria
1) Ph D programmes: For Engineering Departments: Master's Degree in Engineering/Technology in relevant areas with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on 10 point scale), for other departments: Master's degree in appropriate branch of Science/Humanities/Social Sciences with a first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on 10 point scale).
2) M Tech (Full Time) programmes: A valid GATE score alongwith Bachelor's Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology with a first class or minimum 60% Marks or CGPA of 6.50 (on 10 point scale) or equivalent. However, if the seats remain vacant, candidates without GATE score shall be considered.
For sponsored seats, Candidates serving AICTE approved technical Institutes/Industry/R&D organizations/National Laboratories having above mentioned academic qualifications and having more than two years teaching/professional experience are eligible.
3) M Tech (Part Time) programmes: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology in relevant allied discipline with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 (on 10 point scale). For admission to Material Science and Technology, candidates with Master's degree in Physics/Chemistry with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 (on 10 point scale) are also eligible.
Further, an applicant seeking admission to an M Tech (part time) programme must be sponsored from a technical Institute approved by AICTE/Industry/R&D organization/National Laboratory. Further, he/she must have two years (minimum) of teaching/research/professional experience to his/her credit on the last date of receipt of applications.
4) M Sc (Full Time) programme: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 60% aggregate marks or CGPA of 6.50 (on 10 point scale). For admission to M Sc in Physics, a pass in Mathematics at Bachelor's level is compulsory.
Selection Procedure:
1. Admission to PhD (Full time/Part time) programmes will be based upon the recommendations of a panel of experts before which the candidate(s) is required to make a presentation on a topic of his/her proposed area of research using power point presentation. The interviews shall be held from June 08, 2009 to June 12, 2009.
2. Admission to M Tech (Full Time) programmes will be based upon the merit of GATE scores (strictly). All candidates are required to report in the respective department on 01.06.2009 at 9.30 a.m. In case, seats remain vacant after admitting GATE qualified candidates, then candidates without GATE score shall be considered for admission to the respective programme. These candidates will have to appear in a written test in the respective department on the same day at 10.00 a.m. Admission to the non-GATE qualified candidates shall be made based upon their performance (merit) in the written test.
3. Admission to M Tech (part Time) programmes will be based upon the performance (merit) of the candidates in a written test to be conducted in the respective department(s) on 01.06.2009 at 10 a.m.
4. Admission to M Sc (Full Time) programmes will be based upon the performance (merit) of the candidates in the written test to be conducted in the respective department(s) on 01.06.2009 at 10 a.m.
Important:
1. Category (General/OBC/SC/ST) once chosen by the applicant in his/her application form shall not be changed at a later stage. Candidate(s) claiming any reservation category (OBC/SC/ST) and also General category should apply on separate application forms for the purpose.
