Admission Notification- 2011-12

Regional Institute of Education, Mysore, a constituent unit of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to the following preservice Teacher Education programmes for the academic year 2011-12.

• 4 Year Integrated B.Sc.Ed (Eight Semesters)
   A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate with subjects: i) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for PCM Stream, and ii) Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Chemistry,
 Botany & Zoology for CBZ stream.

• 4 Year Integrated B.A.Ed (Eight Semesters)
   A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate and with English, Regional  Language and any two of the subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science & Sociology

• 6 Year Integrated M.Sc.Ed (Twelve Semesters) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
A pass in PUC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate and with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

• One Year M.Ed (Two Semesters)
   A pass in B.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. / B.A.Ed. or equivalent degree with 50% marks in aggregate.
  Candidates with a PG degree will be given appropriate weightage.

• International Diploma in Guidance and Counseling (IDGC)
One year IDGC is offered through distance mode. Admission procedures begin from October 2011. Interested candidates may send their request for further details to Principal, RIE, Mysore

All programmes except IDGC are affiliated to the University of Mysore.


Relaxation of 5% marks for SC and ST candidates is allowed for eligibility.

Admission to M.Sc.Ed Programme is on all India basis, whereas admission to B.Sc.Ed, B.A.Ed and M.Ed Programmes is open to candidates of southern states and UTs only. Selection for M.Sc.Ed and M.Ed will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and Entrance Test. Selection for B.Sc.Ed and B.A.Ed will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, PH is as per the directive of Government of India.

All SC and ST and 50% of the remaining students are awarded scholarship ranging from Rs.800/- to Rs.1,200/- per month.

Application can be obtained by post by sending DD for Rs.300/-(Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) from a Nationalised Bank drawn in favour of Principal, RIE Mysore , payable at Mysore, along with self addressed envelope of size 26cm X 12cm bearing a stamp for Rs.10/-. Application form and general information to candidates can be downloaded from the website
www.riemysore.ac.in and filled in application be sent along with the demand draft. Application forms can also be obtained in person from Academic Section of the Institute on payment of
application fee from 23.05.2011.
Separate application should be submitted for each stream / programme.

How To Apply:
Step 1: Create User Account
    *   Go to the Account Creation Page --> Enter the required details.
    *   Select your reservation category. Select General Category if you are not entitled to any reservation.
    *   After creating an account, an Application Number is provided for you. Please note down this number. This number is used for future login into the site.
    NB: Please ensure that the details entered are correct. You cannot further edit the details entered in the Account Creation Page except your Password  
Step 2: Fee Payment
    *   Take a print out of the Fee Payment Challan generated for you.
    *   Make sure that your details printed on the Challan are correct. If found wrong, create a new account with correct details
    *   Pay the application fee in any selected branch of SBT. The designated branches are enlisted in the bank payment page itself.                       
    *   Collect the sealed Student copy and University copy  of Fee Challan from bank.
Step 3: Personal Details
    *   Login to your account by using your Application Number and Password.
    *   If you have remitted Fee in the bank , then you will be able to view the Personal Details page.
    *   Enter your Personal and Academic Details there.        
    *   If any entries are  not applicable to you, Select the option 'Not Applicable'.
    *   After completion click on the 'Save & Next>>' button.
Step 4: Option Registration
    *   Select your Course and college options.
    *   If you want to select more options, click on the link 'Add one more option'.
    *   If you does not need any option, delete that by clicking on the cross symbol against each option.
    *   If you want to change all the options you have selected, Press the Reset button
    *   To register your selected options Press 'Save Options'
Step 5: Final Submission
    *   All the details you have entered will be listed in the Final Submission Page.
    *   Thoroughly check each entries.
    *   If you want to change any entry, Press the Edit link against each Title. You can edit the details as given in the above steps.
    *   If all entries are correct, click on the 'Submit Your Application' button. Only then, your application is registered in the system.
    *   After Final Submission you can not edit any data. So please verify the details entered before Final Submission.   
Documents to be attached with the Print out of the application registered online for Submission at MG University
   (i)  University copy of the Pay in Slip in proof of fee remitted in the bank.
   (ii) Self Attested Copy of Certificate in proof of date of birth.
   (iii) Self Attested Copy of Certificate in proof of Caste / Community.
   (iv) Self Attested Copy of Mark lists of all parts of the Qualifying examination.
   (v)  Self Attested Copy of NCC/NSS Certificate, if applicable.
   (vi)  Self Attested Copy of Certificate to prove applicant as dependant of Ex service men/Jawan etc if applicable

Step 6: Submission of Hard copy of the application form
    *   After Final Submission, you can take print out of your filled application form.Sign the printout by the Applicant and Guardian.
    *   You can Save your PRINT Forms  by selecting File -> Save Page As Option.
    *   Send the duly signed application by the applicant & the parent along with university's copy of challan and copies of the necessary documents to the following address by post.

ANNOUNCES
NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR INNOVATIVE EXPERIMENTS IN
PHYSICS (NCIEP) - 2011

NCIEP is an annual activity of IAPT. It is aimed to motivate teachers to develop 'innovative experiments in Physics which should display the theory as well as the experimental skills'. Please read the following guidelines:

1. The experiment should be an original one, designed by the participant himself / herself. It can be even a demonstration type experiment. The use of sophisticated software, computers, microprocessors for data acquisition and display are not allowed. Innovation rather than sophistication is the main theme. The participant can be a teacher at any level. He /She need not be an IAPT member.

2. On the basis of decision taken in EC meeting held in October 2011 at Rajkot, there will be two categories of entries and prizes on the basis of age. Top 3 experiments from each category A and B will be awarded cash prizes.

3. The participant should submit the details of the experiment in the following format.

Aim of the experiment, abstract of the experiment, detailed theory with necessary diagrams, experimental procedure, observations, calculations, graphs, results inferences and references.

4. The format of the write up should be as follows:
Title of the experiment – Arial font, size 12, bold, capital letters, justified. Abstract and theory of the experiment – Arial font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, justified, proper margins on all four sides be maintained. Total number of pages must be mentioned and each page should be numbered. Write up should be only on one side of A4 size sheet. The participant should not write his / her name, name of college / school etc any where in the write up. This may reveal his/her identity. However, an extra sheet must be attached which will display the following :

I. Name of the Experiment along with same abstract as described above.
II. Name of the Participant (s) (in credit order) with age and category A / B
III. Institutional affiliation
IV. Address for correspondence, Email address, (STD code) Telephone number including mobile number.
V. A declaration that the proposed experiment is original, designed and developed by the participant(s) and not published / submitted elsewhere. This declaration should be signed by participant(s).

5. Ten best entries from each category will be invited for demonstration at 26 th IAPT convention venue. The invited entries will be paid railway sleeper class fare and reservation charges (to and fro) from work place to convention place plus expenses on carrying the equipment if necessary. The selected participant has to come with his own setup for final demonstration. In case of joint authors as per IAPT rules only one of the participants is eligible to receive traveling charges.

6. Convention place and dates will be notified later. Generally the convention is in mid October.

Details of Participating Universities:
The seven Central Universities, namely Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have come together to conduct a common entrance test for programs offered in these Universities. This test enables a candidate, as a single window facility, to seek admission to over 70 undergraduate and 5 year integrated programs after 10 +2 and postgraduate & research programs in these seven Universities.

TURKISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2011-12
Applications are invited from Indian National residing in India on plain paper in the FORMAT GIVEN AT THE END for the award of Turkish Government Scholarships for 2011-12 which are as follows:-
RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP (FOUR)
  1. INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS
    1. Research scholarship are granted for those who will do scientific research in their field of interest in Turkish Universities (Subjects: (i) Agriculture (ii) Biotechnology and (iii) Environmental Engineering);
    2. Duration of the scholarships is for two to eight months;
    3. Scholarship will start on 1st October, 2011;
    4. Travel expenses to and from Turkey will be met by the Scholars/Students themselves;
    5. The Turkish Government will meet the tuition fees, housing cost and medical treatment expenditure for scholars (except long-tern illness, serious surgical operations, prosthesis, jaw orthopedics, orthodontics and teeth prosthesis);
  2. QUALIFICATIONS:- The candidate:-
    1. Should have completed graduate programmes (Master/Ph.D) lasting at least four years before 27.5.2011 minimum 60% marks in relevant subjects;
    2. Should have fluent communication skill in at least one Language i.e. Turkish, English or French Languages;
    3. Should be medically fit;
    4. Age: Below 40 years as on 27.5.2011;
    5. Research proposals/specific work to be undertaken (in separate sheet ) to be furnished.
  3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Applications received after last date will not be entertained.
    2. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
    3. The selected candidates will avail of scholarships in all cases. Therefore, an undertaking that he/she will not refuse the offer should be sent in duplicate alongwith the application.
    4. Applications of candidates who reside abroad will not be entertained.
    5. Candidates who have already been abroad for study/specialization/training either on scholarship or on their own for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad.
    6. The candidates would have sufficient knowledge of the geographical situation and cultural heritage of Indian and Turkey.
    7. Candidate can apply only for one subject.
    8. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final. However, final selection rests with the donor country.
    9. Candidates who do not possess the requisite qualification need not apply.
    10. No canvassing in any form will be entertained.
    11. No application from will be provided by the Ministry.
    12. Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of certificates regarding date of birth, diplomas, degrees, mark-sheets in respect of all the examinations passed alongwith experience certificate of Employment and one copy of recently taken passport size photograph with signature (to be pasted on the application form). Self attested certificates will not be accepted.
    13. Applicants may keep ready the transcript, health report, recommendation letter, acceptance letter and curriculam vitae which are required to be submitted at the time of interview.
  4. LATE DATE

    Applications along with supporting documents for the date of birth, qualification and research proposal must reach to the Section Officer, ES-4 Section, Department of Higher Education, West Block-1, 2nd Floor, Wing-6, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 latest by 27th May, 2011 (Friday). Those who are employed must sent their application through their employer. Application received after the due date will not be considered. On line application may be accepted provided hard copy of the application along with enclosures (attested copies of certificates, mark sheet etc) reach the Ministry with 5 days after the last date.
