DEI ADMISSION NOTICE 2008-2009.
The Dayalbagh Educational Institute is a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 as per Notification No. F.9-3/78-U-3 dated 16.5.1981 issued by the then Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India. The Institute has six faculties, viz., Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Science, and Social Sciences, besides a Technical College. The following courses are offered :

3. *B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Sc. (Home Science) (Hons.)
ELIGIBILITY: **10+2 in Arts with Home Science/Science.
4. *B.Com. / B.Com. (Hons.)
ELIGIBILITY: **10+2 in the concerned subject.
5. *B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons.)

6. *B.B.M./B.B.M. (Hons.) (Bachelor of Business Management)
ELIGIBILITY: **10+2 in Arts/Commerce/Science.
7. B.Sc. (Engineering) Electrical/Mechanical (8 Semesters)
ELIGIBILITY: **10+2 with PCM and English with at least 60% mark in Mathematics as well as.in the aggregate of PCM.
8. B.Ed. (2 Semesters) (Recognised by NCTE Letter No. F/U.P.-8/3827 dated 28.10.1996)
ELIGIBILITY: Graduate or Post-graduate in Arts/Commerce/ Home Science/Science/Social Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
9. M.Ed. (2 Semesters) (Recognised by NCTE Letter No F-NRC/NCTE/UP-11/M.Ed./2000/3782-88 dated 19.7.2000)
ELIGIBILITY: B.Ed. or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in the Graduate or Post-graduate examination.
10. M.A. [Drawing & Painting/ English / Hindi / Music (with specialisation in Vocal/ Sitar/Tabla)/ Sanskrit]: (4 Terms- 3 Semesters plus a Summer Term)
ELIGIBILITY: + Graduate in the concerned subject. For M.A. in Drawing. & Painting/ English/ Music (Vocal/Sitar/Tabla): Graduate or equivalent with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject.
11. ++M.Com. with (without) specialisation in International Business (4 Terms- 3 Semesters plus a Summer Term)
ELIGIBILITY: +Graduate in Commerce/Business Management.
12. M.B.A. (Business Management) (4 Terms- 3 Semesters plus a Summer Term)
ELIGIBILITY: Graduate in any discipline like Arts/Business Management/Commerce/ Science/Social Science or Engineering Graduate.
13. M.Tech. in Engineering Systems: (Full Time- 4 Semesters plus a Summer Term, Part time- 7 Semesters plus Summer Terms)
ELIGIBILITY: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science & Engineering/Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Mechanical /Production / Industrial Engineering.
14. ++M.Sc. (Home Science) with (without) specialisation in Human Development (4 Terms- 3 Sems. plus a Summer Term)
ELIGIBILITY: +Graduate in the concerned subject.
15. M.A. (Social Science) in Psychology (4 Terms 3 Semesters plus a Summer Term)
ELIGIBILITY: +Graduate in the concerned subject.
16. M.Sc. (Botany/Chemistry/Mathematics with specialisation in Computer Applications/ ++Physics with (without) specialisation in Electronics or Computer Science/ Zoology) (4 Terms- 3 Semesters plus a Summer Term)

17. M.Phil. (Theology) (2/3 Semesters)
ELIGIBILITY: Adv. PG Dipl. in Theology for 2 Sems. Programme. OR P.G. in any discipline with at least 55% marks for 3 Sems. Programme.
18. M.Phil. (Education) (2 Semesters)
ELIGIBILITY: M.Ed. or M.A. (Education) with at least 55% marks.

20. Ph.D. in all the post-graduate subjects (Eligibility of candidates depends upon the category available at the respective post-graduate level.)
ELIGIBILITY: Post-graduate with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject or qualifying NET or UP SLET or MPhil or Engineering Graduate with at least 75% marks and one published paper/one year experience

22. PGDDFM (P.G. Dipl. In Devotional & Folk Music) (2 Semesters)
ELIGIBILITY: Graduate in Music as Major subject.

24. PGDIM (P.G. Diploma in Industrial Mathematics) (2 Semesters)
ELIGIBILITY: +Graduate in Maths or Postgraduate in Maths with Mathematics as a major/main subject at degree level or Engineering Graduate.
25. PGDTDP (P.G. Dipl. in Textile Designing & Printing) (2 Sems.)
ELIGIBILITY: Graduate in any discipline.
26. PGDBE (2 Semesters) (P.G. Diploma in Business Economics)
ELIGIBILITY: Graduate of any discipline (Arts/ Business Management / Commerce/ Social Science) or Engineering Graduate.

ELIGIBILITY: High School with at least good second division OR Intermediate with 50% marks from UP Board or equivalent examinations with Science and Maths as main subjects.

ELIGIBILITY: Intermediate with Hindi and English subjects.
Graduate refers to 3-year degree course under 10+2+3 system.
*Duration of course : 4 Semesters & Duration of Honours course : 6 Semesters
**Intermediate from U.P. Board or equivalent examination.
+Graduate with Honours or Graduate with 60% marks in the concerned subject.
++Candidates applying for M.Com. or M.Sc. (Home Science) or M.Sc. (Physics) are required to fill up one application form only indicating preference of specialisation, if they desire.
NOTE:1. Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST applicants for all courses of studies.
2. Maximum age 21 years (24 for SC/ST) as on 1st July, 2007, except for female applicants and applicants for B.Ed./Post Graduate courses; for Diploma in Engineering and Polytechnics, 22 years (25 for SC/ST).
3. (a) At present, courses open for admission for female candidates: BA, BA (Social Sc.), BSc (Home Sc.), BCom, BSc, BBM, BEd, MEd, MA, MCom, MBA, MSc (Home Sc.), MA(Social Sc.), MSc, MPhil (Theology), MPhil (Education), PGDT, PGDDFM, PGDTDP, PGDCSA, PGDIM, PGDBE, Dipl. in Engg. (Electronics), Dipl. in Polytechnics (Textile Designing/Interior Designing & Decoration/Garment Technology/Home Science/ Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice) and PhD in the above postgraduate courses. (b) At present, courses open for admission for male candidates: BCom, BSc, BBM, BSc (Engg.), BEd, MEd, MCom, MBA, MTech, MSc, MPhil (Theology), MPhil (Education), PGDT, PGDCSA, PGDIM, Dipl. in Engg. (Auto/Electrical/Electronics/ Mechanical), Diploma in Polytechnics (Leather Technology Footwear), Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice and PhD in the above postgraduate courses.
4. Admissions are made on the basis of academic merit, written test and personal interview for all courses except M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., M.Sc. (Home Science), M.A. (Social Science) in Psychology, MPhil (Theology), PGDT and PGDDFM where admissions are made on the basis of academic merit and personal interview only.
5. Written test is not an entrance examination open to all candidates who apply, but it is a part of selection procedure. Only a limited number of candidates will be called for written test on the basis of marks obtained in various prequalifying and qualifying examinations/qualifying examination. Normally such lists are ready by 10th to 15th July of the session and are displayed on the notice board of the concerned Faculty/College. Call letters for written test/interview are sent under postal certificate.
6. Prospectus containing details of courses and admission procedure, Application Form and Syllabus for courses, where written test is prescribed, can be obtained from the Institute's counter or by post by sending 'Account Payee' bank draft in favour of DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE payable at any bank at Agra along with an address chit of 8x4 cms. size as follows:

Except for Ph.D., the last date for submission of completed applications in the office of the Registrar shall be June 30, 2008. In case of B.A./ B.A. (Social Science)/ B.Sc. (Home Science)/ B.Com./ B.Sc./ B.B.M./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ and Courses as at S.Nos. 27 to 30, the last date will be 10th day after declaration of result of Intermediate Examination (High School examination, where specified) of the U.P. Board for regular candidates or June 30, 2008, whichever is later. For Ph.D., the last date will be 1st September or 1st March every year. Limited seats in hostels both for male and female students are available separately.
Timings: for sale of Prospectus, Application Form and Syllabus for Written Test and for submission of completed applications at the counter between 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on all working days except Saturdays (between 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 Noon).
