DST project "Novel mixed metal oxide photo-catalysts of layered/channeled structure for the direct splitting of water into H2 and O2 under visible light irradiation"
The appointment will be for a period of one year initially from the date of joining and extendable up to 3 years based on the performance of the candidate.
Pay and terms and conditions: As per DST rules depending upon the research experience of the candidate
Job: Preparation and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, mixed metal oxides, mesoporous materials, dispersed metal nanoparticles and their characterization and applications in photocatalytic processes.
Qualifications:
For RA the candidate should have a Ph.D degree in Chemistry/Physics with good background and experience in Solid State Chemistry/Physics, Preparation of mixed metal oxides of different morphology and Catalyst characterization. Candidates who have submitted the thesis and awaiting the result may be considered for the appointment on provisional basis.
Qualification of the candidate for SRF/JRF should be M.Sc. (Chemistry) with qualification of NET exam or appropriate research experience in the area related to the research project.

The list of the candidates selected for interview will be placed on the catalysis division notice board on December 15, 2009, and the interview will be held on December 22, 2009 at 1430 hrs in the Catalysis Division at NCL.
No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview or for joining the post. The appointment will be subject to the approval by DST. The selected candidate is expected to join the duty w.e.f. January 1, 2010.
