(ii) Division of Computer Engineering & Information Technology (COE & IT) : Reconfigurable Computing and FPGA, Software Engineering, Information System, Real Time Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Image Processing, Computer Networking, Mobile computing, Hardware Software Co-design, Sensor Networks, Video modeling & processing, Video Broadcasting,
Text Classification, Software Testing, Adhoc Networks, Human behaviour & Data mining.
(iii) Division of Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE): Industrial Electronics and industrial drives, Instrumentation including Biomedical and intelligent instrumentation, Process Control and Mechatronics, Networking and Distributed Computer Control System. Intelligent Control, optimal control, Fractional order Controllers, Bioinformatics, Game theory, Reinforcement learning and its Applications in Robotics.
(iv) Division of Manufacturing Processes and Automation Engineering (MPAE): Manufacturing Processes, Manufacturing Automation, Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Electrochemical & Electro discharge Machining, Unconventional Machining Process, Robotics and Multi-criteria decision methods using AI, Hybrid machining Technology.
(V) School of Applied Sciences (SAS): Mathematics : Approximation Theory, Fluid dynamics, Biomechanics, Linear and Nonlinear waves, Cosmology, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Complex
analysis, Partial Differential Equations, General Relativity, Gas Dynamics. Chemistry : Inorganic Chemistry, organic Chemistry, Physical Chem. Physics: Material Science, Elastic Dielectrics,
Nanometric Dielectrics, Electro-mechanical transducers/ sensors/ Electrical Characterization of MCT Hetero-structures. Solar Energy (Heat Transfer) & Energy Engineering, Solar Energy Materials, Solar
Cell, Nano Solar Energy materials, mathematical Modeling and Simulation, Green building and solar Passive Technology.
(vi) Bio-Technology: Bio-Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy and Biophysics, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics.
(Vii) Humanities: Sociology of Science and Tech., Sociology of Education and Professions and Globalization, English Language teaching, Acquisition and development Sociolinguistics.
Eligibility
Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline (For ECE, COE, ICE, MPAE, IT) Securing 70% or more marks in aggregate and Masters Degree in Science or Equivalent in relevant area (as detailed at point No. V & Vi above) of Applied Sciences & Bio-Technology (in accordance with Ordinance VI-B, University of Delhi) securing 70% or more marks in aggregate.
Candidates having only M.Sc. degree (without M.Tech. or M. Phil degree) will be required to complete course work as detailed in ordinance VI B of University of Delhi. However, if the candidate has qualified any of the national level fellowship exams for example, CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT/DST, Inspire fellowship or GATE examination after Master’s degree he/she will not have to undergo any course work.
The candidates possessing Master degree with 60% or more marks who are eligible for Ph.D. degree as per ordinance VI B of University of Delhi may also apply for admission for Ph.D. degree but they will be admitted without scholarship and they will be required to comply with the other formalities of ordinance VI B displayed on Institute website and will be selected through a written test followed by Power point Presentation and Interview.

One Thousand only) non-refundedable in favour of Director, NSIT, New Delhi 110078, payable at Andhra Bank, NSIT Branch, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110078, should reach to the office of Assistant Registrar (Acad.PG studies) latest by 30.09.2011.

Financial Assistantship to Ph.D Scholars
The Institute currently offers a Teaching-Cum-Research Fellowship of Rs. 15000/- pm (which is likely to be revised @ Rs. 25,000/- p.m.). Successful candidates, on completion of Ph.D. under the scheme, stand good chance of being considered for absorption as faculty in this institute through proper Selection Committee.
A scheme also exists for the award of Research Assistantship for providing financial assistance to the students. In terms of this scheme, the student who is not found suitable for TRF but found suitable for research can be considered to Ph.D. Degree programme as research fellow with stipend/fellowship as per rule
