Summer Course in Experimental Physics 2016
[for Second Year Undergraduate Physics Students]

Summer Course in Experimental Physics (SCEP) is designed as an enrichment course and is based on “Experimental Problem Solving” approach for undergraduate students. During this course students will be mentored by a team of facilitators and encouraged to carry out independent experimental work on a set of ‘experimental problems’ in Physics. The course aims at strengthening conceptual understanding, procedural understanding, experimental problem solving ability and experimental skills in students. The course will be held at HBCSE, Mankhurd, Mumbai, India, during May 9 - 20, 2016. SECOND YEAR undergraduate students from any college, university or institution can apply. All the participants will stay at HBCSE campus and work in the NIUS and Olympiad physics training laboratories. No registration fee will be charged from any participant. All the participants will be eligible for a shared accommodation in the NIUS hostel/guest house in the HBCSE campus and financial support for their travel (by 3 tier AC) and stay.
Applications are invited for ‘Summer Course in Experimental Physics (SCEP) 2016’ from SECOND YEAR UNDERGRADUATE students who are pursuing i) 3 year BSc or BSc(H) ii) 4 year BS and iii) 5 year MS or MSc (integrated) and who will complete 2 years / 4 semesters of their undergraduate course by May 2016. Applicants should have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grades in their Class X, Class XII and first, second and third – year or semester examination of their undergraduate course. Students who have chosen Physics as a major subject and would like to continue Physics as a major subject should apply.
