Workshop on The art of writing research papers and doctoral thesis for research students in Kerala

   The Centre for Science Communication (CSC) and Sophisticated Test and Instrumentation Centre (STIC), Cochin University of Science and Technology is jointly organising a one-day workshop on "The art of writing research papers and doctoral thesis" for the benefit of research students in Kerala. The workshop will be focussed to research in Science and Technology areas. The following topics will be covered in the workshop

(i) Guidelines/tips to write research papers/doctoral thesis

(ii) Statistical error analysis/uncertainty estimation

(iii) Impact factor/Citation index analysis

(iv) Usage of English while writing research papers/doctoral thesis

Dr. Jacob Philip (STIC/CUSAT), Dr. A. Vijayakumar (CUSAT), Dr.N.Balakrishna (CUSAT) and Dr. Jayasree Sukumaran (Maharaja's College) will lead the workshop.

Interested research students may submit application for participation in the attached

proforma along with a DD/cash for Rs. 150/- towards registration fee. DD should be drawn in favour of Director, STIC payable at SBT, Cochin University branch. Cash will be accepted at STIC Office. The registration fee covers working lunch/tea /refreshments. The number of participants will be limited to 50, on a first come first served basis. Please confirm availability of seat before taking DD. Last date for receiving applications is 15.11.2007.
