Indian Institute of Astrophysics IIAP - Trainee

Indian Institute of Astrophysics came into existence in 1971. It is a premier institute dealing with the research work in the field of astronomy (space also), astrophysics (solar eclipse, lunar eclipse study etc.) and related physics. It has set up many telescopes in the country and still planning to set up a large telescope. 
The candidates will be given a chance to move towards a research oriented career. The candidates will be required to work at different sites and carry out research operations related to astrophysics etc.
Eligibility: A candidate must be an Indian citizen. The age of a candidate must not exceed 25 years. Relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.
Qualification required: A candidate must have a first class degree in M.Sc or M.Phil (Physics /Astronomy / Astrophysics / Optical Sciences) OR a B.E/B.Tech degree in CSE, IT, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation. The candidates with their results awaited can also apply.
Pay Scale: Only a stipend of Rs. 10000 will be given along with the HRA during training period.
Training period: One year training period is there which can be extended up to 2 years.
Selection Procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and their resumes. The selected candidates will be sent to the field stations of IIA.
